Hello, and welcome to the Community Service Work-Study Program (CSWSP)! This is the only Oberlin College program that allows students to use their federal work-study award to work off-campus in a community service oriented position.  All students with federal work-study grants in their financial aid packages are welcome to apply.

CSWSP focuses on engaging students more fully in service learning through consistent outreach activities, stimulating service experiences, meaningful orientation and reflection, and connections between service and coursework. Students employed at CSWSP partner agencies/organizations learn more about their community, impact the lives of local residents, and earn part of their financial aid award. Here at the Bonner Center for Service and Learning we hope that students will both gain and receive as much as possible from the program.

To this end, we are affiliated with 19 different community partner agencies/organizations at 22 sites in the community. Students working in these agencies tutor academically at-risk youth, complete clerical tasks, help to plan and teach arts programs, participate in environmental restoration programs and contribute creative ideas.
