“Grab Your Hat and Read with the Cat!”

Although many know him as Dr. Seuss, Theodore Geisel was born March 2, 1904. In it's 10th year at Oberlin, America Reads hosts Dr. Seuss Day to commemorate his work.

.

Held at Oberlin Public Library, kids can get their faces painted, make hats, fish for words, create poetry, discover pirate treasure and pick a free book to take home.

Guest readers from 2009 were Eastwood Elementary School Principal Brian Carter and Prospect Elementary School Principal Jim Eibel.

There were also musical performances by The Obertones and Nothing but Treble, and tutors from the America Reads program at the Bonner Center for Service and Learning.
