Education Outreach Programs
Over 250 Oberlin College students do educational outreach each year.
These students:
….tutor reading & math
….teach lessons in Spanish, science, and other subjects
….lead educational tours at Allen Art Museum
….help kids with homework in after school programs
….teach 4th & 5th graders to swim at the college pool
….tutor adult GED classes
….work with autistic youngsters at Murray Ridge
….provide music lessons
….coach drama classes
….work closely with classroom teachers
….get paid for their work, get course credit, or volunteer their time
….serve as positive role models for children
….provide school sites with energetic tutors, instructors, and mentors for free
….are trained and supervised by Oberlin College faculty & staff working collaboratively with site staff
….gain valuable experience from their work
….believe in the transformational power of education
